SOUTH Africans are enthusiastic and excited about the declaration of "Football Tuesday" when Bafana Bafana take on France.
Primedia, the Southern Sun hotel group, and the International Marketing Council (IMC) have called on "each and every South African" to wear their yellow shirts tomorrow and to wave the flag.
"The call for 'Football Tuesday' has prompted a positive response from across the country," Primedia's Yusf Abramjee said.
"Individuals, companies and even government departments have said they are supporting it. We are delighted at the positivity.
"It's important for us to continue to rally round our boys and to support them each and every step of the way," Abramjee said.
At the same time, he said, fans should continue celebrating the success of the World Cup.
"The one memory Bafana Bafana will treasure forever is the support the country has shown," Abramjee said.
Southern Sun head of communications Priya Naidoo said: "Let's paint every corner of our country yellow on Tuesday. Let's wear our yellow shirts again with pride and let's do so in our millions."
Marketing manager of the International Marketing Council of South Africa Sophie Masipa said: "The time is now, more than ever, to stand behind our national team and support our boys.
"The attention of the world is fixed on our beautiful country, seeing all of us put aside our differences to rally round the team close to realising the united nation Nelson Mandela continues to dream about. One loss in 13 matches is no reason to drop our heads in shame," - Sapa
