Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
THE greed of capitalists makes them a shameless bunch.
Protesting security guards who left their posts at various stadiums are the latest victims of big business.
According to trade union federation Cosatu the security bosses were aware of the strike threat many weeks ago, but instead of addressing the problem they chose to intimidate workers into submission.
Now these unscrupulous operators have run howling to the government. In its complicity, the government has quickly moved to replace the guards with police officers, who should rightly be manning other posts.
It is a shame that, in a rush to make a quick buck during the World Cup, the capitalists have thrown all due diligence and patriotism out the window.
If they loved the country as much as they claim to, they would have spared us the indignity of the strike and paid the workers their dues.
