PARK Village's truck auctions continue to offer real value to bidders, according to company operations manager LeRoy Augustyn, who investigated a sample of recent prices achieved versus prices set by the used trucks trade.

The assessment from Augustyn comes as Park Village prepares for its next trucks and yellow metal sale on June 22, commencing at 10.30am at the Park Village Auctions truck yard, Nasrec Show grounds (new entrance next to Gate 2). The sale includes truck tractors, trailers, yellow metal equipment, freight carriers, tractors and LDVs.

Augustyn's prices compared with new prices show that savings are even greater. "As a broad guideline, new prices average 30percent to 35percent more than auction prices for the same make and model of vehicles, although not for the same year of manufacture.

"It's always been a 'given' that auction prices are attractive and are less than those of the used vehicles and new vehicle list prices. But this investigation, as limited as it may be, demonstrates clearly just how significant that difference is."
