POLICE have made a breakthrough and arrested three men in connection with the robbery of journalists at a Magaliesberg lodge, north west of Johannesburg.
General Bheki Cele's spokesperson Nonkululeko Mbatha said: "We arrested the three on Wednesday. We questioned another one today (Thursday) but we released him because he could not be linked to the incident.
"We recovered some of the stolen goods, which included cameras, cash and iPods."
European journalists Antonio Simoes, Rui Gustavo and Miquel Cerano were robbed at gunpoint at the Natbush Boma Lodge on Wednesday morning.
Two of the journalists have since checked out of the lodge.
The three men have been charged with armed robbery and would appear in one of the country's 56 courts dedicated to World Cup-related crimes soon. - Getrude Makhafola
