SOUTH Africa's Under-18 team will meet Botswana in the final of the Copa Coca-Cola Cup at Katlehong Stadium, Ekurhuleni, today.

Kickoff is at 2pm.

The two countries booked a place in the final after beating Uganda and Zambia 3-1 and 2-1, respectively, in semifinals at the same stadium yesterday.

Khomotso Serubaruba, Seun Ledwaba and Sanele Mkhize scored for South Africa while George Senkaba scored the consolation goal for the Ugandans.

Tshepo Phaladi and Tshepo Baipoledi scored for Botswana, while Musauso Tembo responded for the Zambians. South Africa's game against Uganda was a captivating match. The home side showed their intentions early in the game.

They were on the offensive from the outset as they staged sporadic attacks. The Ugandan defence was in all sorts of trouble in several attempts to clear their rear but the stubborn locals did not budge.

Their firm purpose paid dividends in the 12th minute when dazzling striker Serubaruba scored the opener. He waltzed, superbly, past defender Richard Ayiko and brilliantly guided his low shot past goalkeeper Ivan Mutumba.

They held on to that lead until the stroke of half-time. Uganda levelled matters through Senkaba, who, at 35m, unleashed a thunderbolt past goalkeeper Clive Moruli.

But the locals were not deterred. They came back more determined than in the first stanza. Ledwaba scored the second goal in the 50th minute.

That goal took away Uganda's confidence and Mkhize put the results beyond any doubt when he easily tapped in the third goal. Mkhize, who plays for Seiphemelo Secondary School in North West, is currently topping the chart as a goalscorer. He has rattled the net nine times.
