EMNDENI Naughty Boys, who adopted Greece during the Clinix Soweto Cup, were crowned winners of this 2010 World Cup awareness tournament in Dlamini, Soweto.

They achieved this by beating Mike Ntombela's Senaoane Gunners, representing France, 1-0 in an exciting final on Sunday.

Striker Thembinkosi Khanyi scored the solitary goal to earn his side the R10000 first prize, with Gunners taking home R4000.

During the third-place playoff match, Mofolo BT Stars (Portugal) beat Pretoria Wine (Holland) 5-4 on penalties.

The Soweto Football Association, which organised the tournament, is happy that the event helped generate interest in the World Cup in the township. Association chairperson Phil "Chippa" Mogodi said: "We started the tournament in partnership with Clinix with a total of 96 clubs participating. We are happy it went well." - Ramatsiyi Moholoa
