'GOLDEN BOY 'IN GOLDEN CHANCE

ISAAC "Golden Boy" Chilemba's prayers have been answered.

ISAAC "Golden Boy" Chilemba's prayers have been answered.

The 23-year-old Malawian trained by Elias Tshabalala, will replace injured Thomas "Tommy Gun" Ooshuizen against Michael Bolling for the vacant IBO super middleweight belt on June 19.

Their fight will form part of Golden Gloves Promotions' (GGP) boxing extravaganza at Emperors Palace.

GGP fight publicist Terry "Terrible Terrence" Pettifer announced yesterday that Oosthuizen, the left-handed 23-year-old murderous hitter, was involved in a car accident last Thursday.

Oosthuizen, a former undefeated IBO Youth light heavyweight, and super middleweight and current WBA Pan African super middleweight titlist required 25 stitches.

"It's strange how things turn out," said GGP's Rodney Berman. "Isaac would have fought Rupert but the latter retired from boxing so when Tommy had an accident, the route was clear for Chilemba who makes the super middleweight limit relatively easy."

Chilemba would have fought Rupert "The Natural" van Aswegen for the WBC International light heavyweight title in one of the four titles that will be at stake at the Palace of Dreams, Ekurhuleni.

But Van Aswegen, 33, the nephew of former World heavyweight champion Gerrie Coetzee, shocked the boxing fraternity last week by announcing that he had just hung up his gloves.

Chilemba was almost in tears when Pettifer broke the news to the Malawian, a former undefeated ABU super middleweight and WBO Africa light heavyweight holder.

Tshabalala said he cared less that Bolling, 25, was a left-hander - they had prepared for Van Aswegen, a right hander.

"I can tell you one thing, Bolling will get a hiding," said the forthright Tshabalala whose other fighters, Bongani "Sweet Pie" Dlamini and Gideon "Hardcore" Buthelezi will fight Jason "Badman" Bedeman for the IBO Africa lightweight and Ronelle Ferreras for the IBO mini flyweight titles, respectively.

IBO junior flyweight holder Hekkie "Hexecutioner" Budler will defend against Filipino Juanito Rubillar in the main fight.
