OUTSPOKEN and astute boxing trainer Elias "Sweet Pie" Tshabalala says there will be no war when his charge, Bongani Dlamini, challenges Jason "Badman" Bedeman for the IBO lightweight title on June 19.

"I have heard people say this is a potential war. What war?" he asked yesterday. "We will take him in two rounds.

"Bedeman has never fought a classy boxer like my boy, who will literally punch the sense out of him and underline his potential as one of South Africa's most scintillating ring talents of the era," Tshabalala said.

Dlamini, 22, is a charismatic fighter from Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

He challenges Bedeman, the Gauteng-based IBO Africa lightweight champion, at Emperors Palace.

Their fight, which is scheduled for 12 rounds, forms part of a bill dubbed "Blockbuster".

Bedeman , who is trained by Manny Fernandez, will bid for the first defence of his title.

The 21-year-old last fought in February when he stopped Bilal Mohammad in the second round to win the WBA Pan African title.

But Bedeman kissed the canvas twice from a jab in the first round.

Tshabalala said: "Bedeman cannot punch and he cannot take it. He has never been hit hard and we will make sure that he feels the pain. Every punch must make a mark on his face. I have no mercy. My boy wants to be a champion."

The trainer, who revived the flagging career of Dingaan Thobela, added that Bedeman leads with his chin.

"We will expose him."

Dlamini stopped Takalani Dangala in three rounds in April. Bedeman has 11 wins (9 KOs) and a draw, while Dlamini has six wins (5 KOs), one loss and one draw.

Meanwhile, the WBC International light heavyweight championship bout between Isaac "Golden Boy" Chilemba and Rupert "The Natural" van Aswegen is off.

Van Aswegen retired yesterday.
