Golf tourney in Pimville

THE Soweto Country Club will host a World Cup Golf festival at the Pimville course on Saturday.

THE Soweto Country Club will host a World Cup Golf festival at the Pimville course on Saturday.

Club president Simon Selepe said players will be permitted to wear the colours of their favourite countries competing in the 2010 World Cup.

"This is a rare occasion because one of the etiquettes of golf is that each golfer should wear a proper coloured T-shirt," Selepe said.

"But we can't ignore the World Cup fever that has hit the country and will be supporting it. We are going to root for our beloved Bafana Bafana and we have no doubt that they will represent us with aplomb."

The entry fee is R80 per player and the format is the individual points system.
