Michelin neck and neck with Pirelli

ISTANBUL - Formula One teams are still undecided about which tyre manufacturer will succeed Bridgestone as Formula One's sole tyre supplier next year, and say the decision could take a few more days.

ISTANBUL - Formula One teams are still undecided about which tyre manufacturer will succeed Bridgestone as Formula One's sole tyre supplier next year, and say the decision could take a few more days.

French manufacturer Michelin made a last-ditch bid at the weekend after rival Italian manufacturer Pirelli said last week that they were on the cusp of signing a two-year deal.

Despite a lengthy meeting in Turkey on Sunday, teams were unable to conclude an agreement.

Williams boss Adam Parr said: "We are still in the process of making the decision."

Red Bull boss Christian Horner said: "We hope it can be decided in the next few days."

Paddock sources revealed that some teams favour Michelin over Pirelli on the grounds that they were more recently involved with F1 but Pirelli's attractive package has made them favourites to seal the deal. - Sapa-AFP
