BRAZILIAN FAN 'IN A BIG MESS'

THE Brazilian fan who mistakenly landed in Johannesburg is still wandering about without any soccer tickets.

Valmor Neto travelled to Cape Town at the weekend.

"I am in Cape Town and will return to Johannesburg next week. I was very disappointed that I couldn't get any match tickets after standing in line from 4am until 3pm.

"I guess I will watch the games at the fan parks," he said yesterday.

Neto, 50, landed at OR Tambo International Airport at 2am on Thursday without any soccer match tickets, only to realise that his accommodation was booked in Cape Town and not in Johannesburg.

"I thought my reservation was in Johannesburg," Neto said with a faint smile.

"I thought Cape Town and Joburg were close to each other and not a 17-hour bus ride away.

"When I got to the airport I was supposed to be picked up but they couldn't find me. I went back and forth and later realised what had happened. This is all just a big mess."

Neto was eventually picked up at 10am by a friend of a friend, Cedric de la Harpe of a Taste of Africa, and lodged in his Soweto accommodation.

Neto will stay in the country until June 10 and plans to watch the final back in Brazil.
