BAFANA Bafana are on the rise.

BAFANA Bafana are on the rise.

After beating Jamaica (2-0) and Thailand (4-0) and drawing with Bulgaria (1-1) in the last month, the team went up seven places on the world rankings this week.

They moved from 90th to 83rd. Last night, they played a sold-out friendly with 35th ranked Colombia at Soccer City Stadium. Their highest ranking ever was 16, in August 1996.

In January, they ranked 85th and then went down to their lowest ranking in 17 years, 88th. With just a few days left before the start of the World Cup, the team is improving.

On Monday, Bafana Bafana will play against 114th-ranked Guatemala at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The Join the Voice campaign, aimed at getting the country to support the team, is run by Avusa and Vodacom. To Join the Voice Behind Bafana Bafana, you can send an SMS and get the chance to win R1million.
