LIMPOPO police have arrested four men linked to the death of a GaKgapane teacher in Bolobedu last weekend.
The men, aged between 17 and 26, were arrested after they allegedly went to a local police station and confessed that they were behind the brutal murder of Elijah Mahasha.
Mahasha, who was allegedly making love to his girlfriend at a lovers' spot at Mannengburg section of the township, was confronted by men wearing balaclavas.
Mahasha allegedly tried to run away but the suspects gave chase and caught up with him at a nearby house where he had sought refuge.
The suspects then allegedly stabbed him several times and left him for dead. The assailants then allegedly fled on foot.
Mahasha was rushed to a local hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.
Bolobedu police spokesperson Constable Rebotilwe Shai said the four suspects would appear in the local magistrate's court to face charges of murder and robbery.
Shai confirmed that Mahasha was a teacher at Masopha High School in GaMatipane village.
"We hope to get to the bottom of this gruesome murder as soon as possible because the suspects had turned themselves in," Shai said.
Shai warned local people against going to unsafe areas whenever they wanted to make love.
According to police, the four suspects could be part of a gang that has allegedly been targeting men who use the same "lovers' spot" to make love to other men's wives.
Another teacher was stabbed and seriously wounded after he was confronted by a gang at the same spot earlier this year.
