MARY Mabatle, Phuti Rakgaphola, Melody Marescia, Hlengiwe Mthimkhulu and Georgina Bachelor are the selfless, talented and innovative trailblazers of the national early childhood development sector.

As national winners of last year's South African Early Childhood Development (ECD) Awards, they are ambassadors for the excellence of the sector.

This has been made possible by the community development partnership of Absa, Sowetan, Unicef, the Basic Education Department, SABC education, social development department, Jim Joel Fund, South African Congress for Early Childhood Development and the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation.

Nominations and entries are being invited for the ECD practitioner of the year, ECD site of the year, training and support organisation of the year, innovative ECD programme of the year and best ECD publication of the year awards.

Get your nomination forms from the South African Congress for Early Childhood Development's national office at 17 Lewis Street, Riverdale, Pretoria.

The forms will also be available soon on both departments' websites.

The closing date for entry is June 30.
