Woman (45) found dead in her bedroom

A 45-YEAR-OLD woman was found dead in her bedroom in Dwaleni Trust near White River in Mpumalanga in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said the half naked body of the woman, who is originally from Bushbuckridge, was found lying on the floor.

KaBokweni police spokesperson Constable Thabo Nkuna said the woman's death was discovered when her neighbour sent children to find out why she had not switched on the lights in her house.

"The children found the door wide open and everything in the room scattered about," Nkuna said. "They called their mother, who tried in vain to wake the woman up.

"After realising that the woman was dead, she called residents who alerted the police.

"Our investigations revealed that her assailant had broken the door down and cut off the electricity wires before attacking her.

"We also discovered that the victim was an employee at KMI airport in Nelspruit."

Nkuna declined to reveal the victim's identity because her next of kin had not been notified.

"It would be a bad thing for her relatives to read about her death in the media," he said.

"It will be easy to locate her relatives because we have gathered a lot of information about her."

Nkuna said an inquest docket had been opened. He appealed to anyone with information to contact their nearest police station.
