We have always supported this great soccer event with the millions who had hoped it would bring economic benefits to the country.
Sapu members, as part of the South African Police Service, Department of Correctional Services and traffic departments will render various security services during this World Cup.
We have persuaded our members, as true patriots ,to render such vital services though the government as an employer has not fulfilled its side of the bargain.
We called for R900 special daily allowance overtime and came away with R700.
Sapu nevertheless calls on members to carry on with their duties though circumstances and conditions are not favourable to us. The World Cup is a moment of glory for our country.
