SYDNEY - Australian police were yesterday hunting for three leaders of a Christian sect after finding a stockpile of guns, explosives and ammunition in Adelaide.

The police would not comment on reports that leaders of the Agape Ministries International predicted the world would end in 2012 and that plans were afoot for members to move to a Pacific island before then.

Superintendent Jim Jeffrey said they didn't know why members were stockpiling weapons or why they were secreting ammunition. - Sapa-DPA
