I THOUGHT I was dreaming when I heard South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins had apologised to blacks and Maoris of New Zealand for apartheid.
The apology is premature because racism is still raging in South African rugby. The rugby apartheid storm is not yet over .
South African rugby still routinely field two players of colour per match to shut politicians' mouths.
Blacks are still racially abused at matches. Some black Blue Bulls fans readily admit that when the Bulls lose a final white fans beat up black fans.
Rugby fans still carry the old South African flags with pride to matches, even matches played at venues like Phokeng that should celebrate the excellence of black achievement.
