FOOTBALL Nights Accommodation has launched The Vuvuzela Call to further dispel negative perceptions of South Africa and the African continent as a whole.

FOOTBALL Nights Accommodation has launched The Vuvuzela Call to further dispel negative perceptions of South Africa and the African continent as a whole.

Initiators of Football Nights Accommodation (FNA) said it was the only full service and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa that consistently promoted the country and encouraged foreigners to visit our shores.

The Vuvuzela Call invites everyone to join the initiative so that African voices can be heard loud and clear.

Since South Africa won the soccer World Cup bid many negative stories about our country have been doing the rounds overseas. While some are true, the majority are hugely exaggerated.

The downside is that some tourists are nervous about coming to South Africa.

The Vuvuzela Call is an extension of FNA's commitment to promoting tourism to our country.

The initiative hopes to engage all South Africans to show the world that we are united and to instil a sense of national pride behind Bafana Bafana.

All you need do to get involved in the Vuvuzela Call is to register on the site, www.thevuvuzelacall.com, and persuade all your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and whoever else you know to also join in.

The FNA will track each person you welcome with your email address as being unique. The person who has welcomed the most people will have the esteemed title of Most hospitable South African, while the person whose Vuvuzela Call reaches the most people will be titled the Loudest Vuvuzela.

The FNA is offering prizes of R5000 each for both the winners.

"While our short-term goal is to encourage foreigners to come to South Africa for the World Cup, we are also working on ways to use the Vuvuzela Call to stimulate awareness of the true nature of our beautiful country as well as to attract not only tourists, but also investment to South Africa long after the games are over," said Rijn Varney, sales director of the FNA.

"With the support of those as passionate about our amazing country as we are, we can start changing the international perception of South Africa," Varney said.

"The more foreigners we as a nation can get to see past the embellishments of the international press, the more people will choose to visit us and experience how beautiful and hospitable South Africa truly is first hand.

"They'll then spread the word back home, wherever that may be."
