IT IS time to nominate South African Early Childhood Development winners .

IT IS time to nominate South African Early Childhood Development winners .

This community-development partnership was originally the Absa and Sowetan ECD Awards. It includes Unicef, the Basic Education Department, SABC Education, Social Development Department, South African Congress for ECD and the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation.

It rewards selfless, talented and innovative caregivers, teachers and managers of ECD centres, crèches and kindergartens as well as tutors and organisations that nurture the teaching staff.

The partnership also rewards the best ECD practitioners, training and support organisations, community and home-based ECD centres, innovative programmes and publications.

It also encourages the professional development of practitioners and the infrastructure development of the sector, the improvement and support of ECD centres and resources and training organisations.

Get your nomination forms from the SACECD's national office at 17 Lewis Street, Riverdale, Pretoria, the Sowetan website, www.sowetan.co.za. They will be available soon on both departments' websites. The closing date for enttry is June 30.
