THE case against four policemen accused of murdering a man in custody was postponed to June 4 by the Roodepoort magistrate's court yesterday.
Collins Makumbene, Siphiwe Joshua Ramosa, Teys Jabulani Mashakeni and Kabelo Maseka are accused of killing Sibusiso Molefe on April 3 while he was in custody for armed robbery.
During a previous appearance, the Independent Complaints Directorate told the court that the policemen allegedly hit Molefe with a firearm and slammed his head against a fire extinguisher after his arrest. Molefe began complaining of a severe headache while in a police holding cell and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Their bail of R1 000 each was extended. - Sapa
