So it came as no surprise that when all eyes are on South Africa during the Fifa World Cup, Zwane is staging Miss Cultural South Africa. She said the pageant is aimed at showcasing and preserving South Africa's diverse cultures.

"Young people in South Africa know very little about their culture. This pageant will give them an opportunity to learn more about the country's different cultures so that they are able to represent them with pride during the World Cup and beyond," she said.

Zwane said the search for Miss Teen Cultural SA and indigenous queen began this month in Polokwane and North West and auditions in the other provinces will continue this month and next.

Girls should be between the ages of 15 and 26 and be able to represent any of the local cultures. The finals will be held on July 9.

"We are looking for girls of all races, who are passionate about their culture."
