AN ARRAY of South African celebrities, among them Chester Williams, Tshidi Mholo and Phil Masinga, have added their voice of support for Bafana Bafana ahead of the Fifa World Cup.

AN ARRAY of South African celebrities, among them Chester Williams, Tshidi Mholo and Phil Masinga, have added their voice of support for Bafana Bafana ahead of the Fifa World Cup.

They invaded Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg, yesterday for the launch of Vodacom's Join the Voice Behind Bafana Bafana campaign.

Other big names present were Teboho Moloi, Moses Spandeel, Mthokozisi Yende, Bruce Ramokadi, Gerry Rantseli, Mark Williams and Gareth Cliff.

Rugby legend Williams said: "I was part of the Springbok squad in the 1995 Rugby World Cup. I experienced it and it was great.

"We managed to get South Africa united. The World Cup is a great opportunity for Bafana to also unify the country.

"Nobody gave us a chance, but we went on to win the tournament. I believe Bafana will make us proud."

Celebrated singer Mholo said: "We (Malaika) are here to show our support for Bafana Bafana. We believe they will do well. With the entire country behind them, there is no way the World Cup trophy will not remain in South Africa after July 11."

Vodacom marketing director Enzo Scarcella said: "There is nothing more inspirational for the team than knowing that the entire nation is behind them.

"All you need to do is to be creative and send an inspirational message of support to 35600."

The campaign will run until June 22.

Fans stand a chance to win Bafana replica jerseys and R1million for a lucky supporter.
