IFP puts off elective conference again

THE IFP has yet again postponed the party's elective conference.

THE IFP has yet again postponed the party's elective conference.

This is the second postponement after the initial conference, which was to take place in April, was postponed to May. It has now been moved to July.

IFP secretary-general Musa Zondi said in a statement: "The national council has taken note of the backlog in the holding of the party's constituency and district conferences whose completion is a prerequisite for the upcoming annual general conference and decided to briefly postpone this elective conference.

"Among the districts that have not conducted their mandatory conferences are Zululand, City of Johannesburg, eThekwini and uMgungundlovu.

"The new dates for the annual general conference approved unanimously by the IFP national council are 23-25 July 2010," Zondi said.

"The 2010 elective annual general conference will take place in Ulundi. Further logistical arrangements will be announced in due course."
