BEIJING Olympics silver medallist Khotso "Crocodile" Mokoena has lined-up a series of events to prepare for the African Senior Track and Field Championships.
Mokoena, who is known for his trademark of competing in the gold and green Bafana Bafana socks, will start his campaign in a meeting in Greece on May 28.
The championships take place in Kenya in July. Subsequent to that, Mokoena will be off to Germany and Morocco for long jump events on May 30 and June 6.
"The one in Morocco will be the African Grand Prix meet where some of the best jumpers in the world have also been invited to compete," he said yesterday.
Mokoena will be back home to join South Africans for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Fifa World Cup on June 11 at Soccer City.
"There is no way I can miss the opening match between Bafana and Mexico. We need to rally behind Bafana and I'm confident they'll make us proud. We also have to support the other five African nations in the World Cup," Mokoena said
He said they were still involved in negotiations with organisers of the Diamond League in Rome for a long jump event on June 24.
