IVY Ann Moseme Sello was born on September 26 1935 in Bloemfontein. She was the second daughter of Lina Nomashwa and Ishmael Sefako Malebo.

Sello, pictured, got married to the late Steve Sello and they were blessed with one daughter, Mapula, and four grandchildren - Kabelo, Khumo, Karabo and Kgomolemo.
She was a nursing sister by profession. She worked at the then GaRankuwa Hospital and established the following wards: intensive care unit, paediatrics clinic, dental clinic and maternity.
She was also a teaching sister at the GaRankuwa Nursing College. In 1979 she was employed by the Medical University of Southern Africa, now University of Limpopo (Medunsa Campus), where she established Student Health Services. She was head of the Student Health Service and worked in it until the beginning of 1995.
She retired but due to her commitment to her profession the university management asked her to continue working in the clinic for another six months.
In 1996 she joined the former Technikon North West (now Tshwane University of Technology) as a part-time employee, and finally retired in June 1996.
She was a member of the mothers' union in the church and a choir member. She was also a women's block leader for Zone 1 GaRankuwa.\
After her retirement she worked at the GaRankuwa Old Age Home.
We will miss her for her humanity. She was a good mother to all of us who knew her.
She will be buried tomorrow at Zandfontein Cemetery, Selborne (Pretoria). The service starts at 7am at St Peter's Anglican Church, Zone 1 GaRankuwa.
