COLOMBO - Sri Lanka's injured star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is recovering and will remain with the team for the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, Sri Lanka Cricket said yesterday.

The 38-year-old Sri Lankan vice-captain has made "significant progress". He picked up a groin injury during last Friday's opening game against New Zealand, which Sri Lanka lost by two wickets.

Muralitharan is the most successful bowler in history with a record 792 Test and 512 one-day wickets.
