Bulls braced for Crusaders backlash

IF THE Bulls management and players don't know their way to Soweto yet, they better find out quickly.

IF THE Bulls management and players don't know their way to Soweto yet, they better find out quickly.

With the team's home ground, Loftus Versfeld, being handed over to Fifa after tomorrow night's clash with the Crusaders, the Bulls will play a home semifinal at Orlando Stadium.

But as captain Victor Matfield said recently: "If it's at altitude and we have our supporters, it doesn't matter where we play."

The Bulls are up against a Crusaders side that has won the Super rugby title seven times and contains a number of All Blacks, including talismanic leader Richie McCaw.

The boys from Christchurch, New Zealand, are still smarting after their 14-42 loss to the Stormers last Friday in Cape Town, and will be anxious to make amends come kickoff at 7.10pm.

The "sold out" signs went up on Monday and with 50000 fans packed into the stadium, the team will want to thank their supporters in the best possible way - with a win.

Coach Frans Ludeke, in announcing his line-up, has made just two changes from last week's side against the Sharks. Back comes Danie Rossouw for Bakkies Botha, while Jaco van der Westhuyzen replaces Heini Adams on the bench.

"Jaco's inclusion gives us more variety on the bench. We have Francois Hougaard to cover at flyhalf and we are looking at Jaco's experience to provide us with something extra," Ludeke said.

The Crusaders' Corey Flynn is out and his place will likely be taken by Ti'i Paulo.
