A KwaZulu-Natal man was sentenced to 15 years for armed robbery and five years for escaping from police custody in Nongoma, police said yesterday.
Lieutenant Colonel Thembeka Mbele said Siphamandla Zulu was one of six men who escaped from police custody in August 2008.
"All the escapees were arrested and sentenced for escaping," Mbele said.
She said the other men still faced armed robbery and murder charges.
