Cup final tickets selling like hot cakes

EXCITEMENT is growing ahead of the Nedbank Cup final, which is scheduled to take place at Soccer City on May 22.

EXCITEMENT is growing ahead of the Nedbank Cup final, which is scheduled to take place at Soccer City on May 22.

The match will officially open the imposing stadium, which has been refurbished to host the opening and final matches of the World Cup on June 11 and July 11.

Premier Soccer League chief executive Kjetil Siem said yesterday that tickets for the match were selling fast.

"Close to 20000 tickets have been ordered for the final, though people do not know which teams will be contesting the final," Siem said at the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal draw in Johannesburg yesterday.

The tickets went on sale yesterday at R40 for adults and R10 for juveniles and Siem urged fans to turn out for a memorable football experience.

"Fans must come to witness the most beautiful and spectacular event to mark the opening of Soccer City," he said.
