THOUSANDS of music lovers gave American R&B sensation Ne-Yo a rousing welcome during a dazzling performance in Johannesburg on Saturday night.
Women fans, screaming lustily and straining for a piece of the star's arresting looks and toned body, seemed to have forgotten their own hunks who had also come to watch the show at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate.
It was an electric atmosphere. Judging by the excitement of the fans, it would be safe to conclude that those who were not there truly missed out.
The fans had come dressed to the nines.
Everything fell in line and worked like a well-oiled machine. The sound system was outstanding. The stage was spectacular and spiced up by Ne-Yo's energetic performance.
After failing to show up at a press conference on Friday night, Ne-Yo rolled on to the stage and sent fans into a wild frenzy.
The Grammy-award winner strutted, danced, swaggered and ran across the stage to the rapturous applause of an enthralled audience.
Dedicating the night to Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo launched into the mega-hit song Because of You .
He charmed the crowd with his sharp, clear and powerful voice, coupled with a commanding stage presence.
After his fourth song he did what all the women appeared to have been waiting for - he took off his shirt - prompting wild screams with all eyes feasting on that six pack and well-toned body.
Local stars JR, Brian Temba and Loose Cannons opened the show.
Ne-Yo wraps up his tour on Tuesday night in Cape Town.
