THE article "Knives are out for ANC councillor," Sowetan, April 28, ignored the good work of Sdudla Mhlongo, to whom it referred.
Mhlongo has called three meetings this year with an average attendance of at least 700 people. Since her election to office, she has built 2000 houses and facilitated the building of a school. She has also tarred a 15km road and upgraded a playground.
She has been instrumental in the Chief Albert Luthuli Legacy Project and has provided electricity to 865 people. Recently a community hall with parking for 120 cars was built in her ward.
Based on these facts, it's clear that certain people in the African National Congress want to oust her, irrespective of her good work.
