Mel said: "I love kids. Between me and my husband, we have three. So yeah, we definitely want to have some together. It'd be nice to throw a boy in there too because we've got three girls. We'll see."

However, Mel may be too busy to start a family in the near future as she is hotly-tipped to land a role as a judge on the US version of Simon Cowell's star-search contest The X Factor. Mel, 34, admits she would be delighted to get the job. She told US TV show Access Hollywood: "There's always rumours. But whoever gets the job will be great. I think it's a great job.
