Kavaliers wary of Cheetahs

THE Boland Kavaliers face a difficult task in Saturday's Vodacom Cup semifinal clash against the Free State Cheetahs .

THE Boland Kavaliers face a difficult task in Saturday's Vodacom Cup semifinal clash against the Free State Cheetahs .

Kickoff is at 3pm.

Speaking to Sowetan yesterday, Kavaliers coach Eugène "Loffie'' Eloff conceded that the Free Staters are unpredictable  but maintains boys were psyched up for the encounter.

"We have worked hard to reach the semifinals of this taxing competition and there is no turning back for us. We cannot allow ourselves to lose focus  at this crucial stage of the tournament. We want to pass this stage and I think we have enough in our arsenal to achieve this feat," said the outspoken Eloff.

"The boys have promised to leave no stone unturned  to reach the final of this competition at the expense of the Cheetahs and win the  first prize of R1million."

The Kavaliers have improved tremendously since former Lions mentor Eloff took over from Dawie Theron earlier this season.

They were unbeaten at home in the  round-robin stage and hope to continue the streak against the visitors on Saturday.

In another semifinal on the day, which is also expected to produce fireworks, last year's finalists the Blue Bulls welcome the Sharks XV at Loftus at 4pm.
