It is clear that Mmotsa is still far from understanding the principle of one centre of power.
Maybe if he started participating actively in the ANC branches he would slowly but surely get a clearer understanding of and start applying some of the movement's principles.
The ANC is one centre of power. It cannot be a qualification to become an ANC chairperson if you are a premier. Mmotsa could have argued this position vice versa: that the provincial chairperson must be the premier and not the way he puts it. That, at best, is the worst political poverty.
I advise comrades who are more political than others to assist rather than create further confusion.
Lobbying must be done honestly and truthfully. Telling branches that Mokonyane is premier so she must be chairperson is not only misrepresenting the ANC, but it is opportunistic and very dangerous for our glorious movement.
Also, lobbying through the newspapers is suicidal. Members should lobby at their branches.
Fortunately there are more branches on the West Rand that are clear and sober when nominating members and those who think that letters will help them mobilise should review their thinking.
The regional general council will soon pronounce the new executive and Mmotsa and others will be shocked.
