SUNDAY afternoon is the final time for the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Mumbai Indians beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Wednesday's first semifinal and were waiting to see who would join them from the other semifinal between last year's champions the Deccan Chargers and the Chennai Super Kings, who were due to meet last night.

Captained by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, the Mumbai Indians have been the most consistent of the eight sides in this year's competition, winning 10 of their 14 games. Tendulkar has been in fine form and leads the competition as the top run scorer with 561.

But against the Royal Challengers, it was a swashbuckling 33 not out from only 13 balls fromWest Indies star Kieron Pollard that ensured they won the match by a comfortable 35 runs.

With a strong South African influence - JP Duminy, Ryan McLaren, Shaun Pollock and Jonty Rhodes are all involved in one way or another - the Mumbai Indians will be hoping this is their year after losing in the semis last year.

l Fears over security for the teams means the final will now be played in Mumbai. The match can be viewed live on SuperSport 2 from 4pm.
