The Under-18 high school tournament will mark the fifth year of the relationship between Sasfa and the giant soft drink company. The winners will take home R150000.
The spotlight will fall on defending champions Rosina Sedibane of Gauteng, 2008 winners Cloetesville of Western Cape and Orlando Pirates feeder side Harmony Academy of Free State.
North West's Seiphemelo, who are Mamelodi Sundowns's feeder side, also have the potential to win the event. They have represented their province in the competition on several occasions and they know what is expected of them in this yearly event.
But it will be suicidal of the pre-tournament favourites to underestimate Northern Cape's Kakamas, who won the title in 2004.
The schools that will make their debut in the tournament are Dalibaso of Eastern Cape, Tisand of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga's LM Nkuna and Matshamo of Limpopo.
Sasfa's national director of competitions Themba Tshabalala said they were expecting fireworks in the "Dark City" this weekend.
"It is difficult to predict who will be crowned the champions," Tshabalala said.
