WHAT an exhilarating game between Cup specialists Kaizer Chiefs and undisputed league masters Matsatsantsa aPitori, SuperSport United, over the weekend.

Unfortunately the sun had gone down this time for the league champs because Amakhosi mesmerised them for a place in the next round of the Nedbank Cup.

Glory days seem to have resurfaced at Naturena as the Glamour Boys once again proved that they are really on a serious mission to collect silverware.

Chiefs' formidable trio, Abia Nale, Mthokozisi Yende and Knowledge Musona, seemed to have been promised a fortune because they went on the rampage throughout the game to make sure that Chiefs is guaranteed a place in the Cup.

Congratulations also to the supporters, who withstood the rain and the hail to be part of the battle of the specialists.

My appeal to the Chiefs' players is that they should not start to celebrate yet because the road to final glory is still very long. Yes, it feels good to play other big teams and win against them, but Chiefs should always guard against complacency and take each game as it comes.

Mathematically, what Chiefs needs to do is to add up their numbers correctly because they have already pocketed a whopping R4million during the Telkom Cup and now they must focus on the R6 million that is at stake to add up to the R10million, which is equivalent to the prize money of the league champions.

That is, of course, if they also win the Nedbank Cup.

Once again, congratulations to the mighty Amakhosi.
