Open letter to South Africa’s students‚ universities and government‚ represented by Minister in the .
A LARGE number of South Africans have recently travelled from all over the country to Vosloorus on the East Rand to commemorate the death of the former South African Communist Party, chief of staff of Umkhonto weSizwe and ANC leader Chris Hani.
This struggle icon was assassinated by Janusz Waluz and Clive Derby-Lewis at his suburban home of Dawn Park in Boksburg, on the East Rand, on April 10 1993.
Hani was one of the internationally acclaimed freedom fighters who fought for a better South Africa.
He has also proven that black people have the ability to make anything possible.
In my limited observation, the Republic of South Africa has yet given birth to another vibrant and brave Hani by the name of Julius Malema.
The young, fearless and outspoken Malema is following in the footsteps of Hani.
The majority of the issues that this ANC Youth League leader has been raising or addressing in the public domain are the issues that most South Africans have been grappling with in their minds and hearts but have had no guts to talk about them.
To all the people of the rainbow nation, let us give this young, vibrant and brave Malema the support he really deserves.
We must also ask God to protect him against the people who are allegedly plotting to assassinate him.
