Celebs are now encouraging all South Africans to rally round Bafana Bafana during the soccer spectacle from June 11 to July 11.

Socialite Khanyi Mbau says: "We will remember 2010 for a long time to come. The World Cup is not only about winning, it is also about socialising and selling our country to the world.

"As such, Bafana should not be under pressure. They should just go out there and do their best.

"Tourists should come and eat, eat, and drink as much as they can and socialise. We have very good food, beer and very warm people."

Comedian and radio personality Ashiffa Shabba, whose real name is Shonisani Muleya, is enthusiastic about the World Cup. "I am lucky that the Peter Mokaba Stadium is within walking distance from my home. If it were possible, I would attend all the soccer matches."

Former Miss South Africa and businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo said: "I want to show Bafana my support as I feel it's really important. To Bafana, keep the flag flying high."

Fashion Designer Ephraim Malingoana said: "Bafana should know that they are carrying the hopes of 50 million people on their backs. With that support, they cannot afford not to go to the second round."
