FORMER DESTINY Child's superstar Kelly Rowland is destined to bring the house down when she performs before an exclusive audience tomorrow night at the Turbine Hall in Newtown, Jozi.
Rowland is going to perform Rhythm of Africa United, the MTN theme song for 2010 Soccer World Cup that features Africa's best artists.
Locals Jozi, Slikour, Kwesta and Zuluboy join Crotale of Cameroon, Senegal's Awadi and Ghana's Samini to rock the house.
The song is a celebration of the beautiful game.
Rowland's participation in the single, titled Everywhere You Go, was confirmed by AS Entertainment's Antos Stella yesterday.
"Kelly is a hot international artist with crossover appeal spanning all communities. We were ecstatic when she jumped at the opportunity to be part of this powerful football anthem," Stella said.
She said: "With the arrival of Africa's first Fifa World Cup it was important that we attracted the cream of the continent's musical talent as well as a world-famous headline act to collaborate on this song."
With her hit single Love Me Better enjoying airplay and her getting movie roles, Rowland is out to prove that she can do it alone. Destiny's Child, including Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams, disbanded in 2006 after having sold more than 50 million albums.
