Joanne Brink of Eldorado Park said: "We are scared to confront taxi drivers because they are rude. We just sit and hope that nothing goes wrong."
Doreen Molefe said: "You know that taxi drivers are a bunch to whom the rule of law does not apply. We are scared to demand the use of (safety) belts because they might even assault us."
Eric Kekana of Hammanskraal said: "We are worried about not being able to use safety belts but it is dangerous to confront people who have gotten accustomed to doing as they please for such a long time."
