In Limpopo, an anti- Malema faction led by his political rival Lehlogonolo Masoga has rejected the newly elected provincial leadership which is led by Frans Moswane - a Malema ally.

Masoga's faction is refusing to recognise Moswane's executive committee.

This happened after police ejected its members from the provincial elective conference for being "disruptive".

The group tried to disrupt Malema's address, wearing T-shirts that read "Masoga or nothing".

The group has now vowed to hold its own elective conference where it will elect "legitimate" leaders.

In the Eastern Cape delegates attending a conference of the Nelson Mandela region passed a resolution to campaign for a motion of no confidence against Malema.

In Gauteng, regions including Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng, West Rand, Motsweding and certain parts of Johannesburg, have come out accusing Malema of trying to impose his own people on them.

Malema is said to be in favour of current ANCYL provincial secretary Thabo Kupa becoming the new provincial chairperson, despite several regions preferring Lebo Maile - the former provincial secretary.

Gauteng is to hold its provincial conference some time this month.

Malema is being accused of trying to pack the provincial structures with his own people in preparation for next year's national elective conference.

Malema is campaigning for his re-election and his deputy Andile Lungisa is challenging him.

A member of the ANCYL national executive committee accused ANCYL treasurer Pule Mabe and general secretary Vuyiswa Tulelo of "doctoring" audit reports of ANCYL members in various regions while also creating "bogus" branches to put Malema's favourites in leadership positions.

The league's spokesperson Floyd Shivambu has rejected the allegations, saying most regions in Gauteng have not held their congress.

"It is only in Tshwane where the audit has been completed, and in Ekurhuleni it is almost done.

"Audits of all other regions have not started," he said.

Shivambu also shot down the move by the Limpopo anti-Malema faction to hold its own elective conference.

"We would like to place it on record that anyone who convenes or attends an illegal conference of the ANC Youth League will be violating the organisation's constitution, and will face disciplinary action," Shivambu said.
