Stone and Musiq are set to wow SA

ANGIE Stone and Musiq Soulchild are headed to South Africa to be part of the Freedom Day celebrations later this month.

The two international artists will hit SA on April 23. They will visit a number of charity organisations ahead of their gig on April 25 at the Botanical Gardens in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

The two American R&B artists will headline the lineup at the Morula Sun Casino in Mabopane, north of Pretoria, on April 27.

Sefako Marketing and Events Management spokesperson Tshegofatso Mokwape said the musos promise a memorable tour.

"Don't miss out. The two musicians are sure to keep you on your feet," Mokwape said yesterday.

"Stone is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, keyboardist and record producer with a musical career spanning more than decades."

Stone has five albums under her belt - Black Diamond, Mahogany Soul, Stone Love, The Art of Love& War and Unexpected.

She has been nominated and won numerous awards, including Grammys in 2003, 2004, 2008 as well as BET awards in 2008.

Musiq Soulchild's style blends contemporary R&B, soul, funk, alternative, blues, jazz and hip hop.

He released his debut album, Aijuswanaseing in 2000 and his single Just Friends (Sunny) topping the chart.

His second single Love spent 22 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

His subsequent albums Justlisen, Soulstar, Luvanmusiq and Onmyradio also made the charts.

He received awards from Billboard, BET, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, BMI and Soul Train.

He has been nominated for awards by MTV, the American Music Awards, as well as the NAACP and 11 Grammys.
