I didn't meet any racists in Aussie

I DID my master's in Australia at the University of Melbourne for two years in 2007-08 and I never experienced any form of racism.

I had friends from all walks of life from Singapore, China, Pakistan, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, South Africa and Australia too.

I made a concerted effort to fit in and believe me, I need not have done so because all my friends made it easy. I was invited to many of their houses and never at any time felt like an outsider. I had a wonderful relationship with my lecturers and some of them invited me to their homes and others took me out for coffee to the cafeteria.

I truly and honestly enjoyed my studies and stay in Melbourne and should I ever get an opportunity to go back, I would not think twice.

It's unfortunate that your journalist experienced racism in Australia.
