Dunywa does his bit for Cup

FORMER Bafana Bafana manager Zola Dunywa has congratulated community leader Funky Ralethe for helping create the World Cup vibe in Limpopo.

FORMER Bafana Bafana manager Zola Dunywa has congratulated community leader Funky Ralethe for helping create the World Cup vibe in Limpopo.

Ralethe has organised the 2010 Zam-Buk Funky Cup through his foundation. The tournament will be held in Indemark, Senwabarwana, from tomorrow until Saturday.

Dunywa said: "I have been working with Ralethe on various community projects, but the one about World Cup awareness is a noble idea. I'm unemployed but will do my utmost to assist Funky in making his tournament a roaring success. Hopefully we will unearth three or four future Bafana Bafana stars."

Ralethe said: "We urge business people to support events aimed at improving the lives of ordinary people.

"The Funky Cup began in 2006 and is now in its fifth year. We are using it to bring the World Cup vibe to schools in Limpopo. It is supported by Safa, the village of Indermark, councillors, the high school principals' association and the district and provincial education department. The mayor of Blouberg Municipality, Serite Sekola, is also fully behind the tournament."

Ralethe is also working with the American International School of Johannesburg on this event, which will see 32 schools competing in soccer, a 5km fun run and netball.
