Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Aubrey Moopela said the man was found at about 4am on Saturday morning by residents in Phase 1, Sharpeville.
He was dead when police arrived and his body was naked.
"We don't know what transpired, but are investigating," Moopela said.
The man was apparently known in Sharpe-ville and Boipatong.
Police have not released his name as his family had not been informed yet.
