SAFA Limpopo's provincial representative Lucas Nhlapo applauded SAB League clubs and referees for the problem-free provincial playoffs in Modimolle on Sunday.
Nhlapo said last year's playoffs were characterised by corruption that resulted in officials and referees being assaulted.
Manini All Blacks from Vhembe region were the overall champions while Blue Rocks from Mopani were the runners-up.
"We were able to control the appointment of the referees on the spot," Nhlapo said, whereas they had previously been appointed a day before.
Nhlapo, who is also chairperson of the federation's dispute resolution committee, said all clubs showed composure and character, with the exception of Maatlopo United from Sekhukhune region, who played below par.
"We are confident that the two clubs will do well in the Vodacom League," he said. "We are concerned by what is happening in Sekhukhune where there are some problems, like the region's inability to select the team for the SAB League Under-21s."
