Kubheka to take reins

KENNETH "Conti" Kubheka has been roped in to assist Amabinneplaas in their preparations for Saturday night's crucial game against Botswana at Germiston Stadium.

KENNETH "Conti" Kubheka has been roped in to assist Amabinneplaas in their preparations for Saturday night's crucial game against Botswana at Germiston Stadium.

This is after caretaker coach Serame Letsoaka left for Mauritius for a Confederation of African Football course. Letsoaka is one of the instructors.

Kubheka, the Safa coaching education head, is assisted by Molefi Ntseki.

Letsoaka will be back on the morning of the match South Africa must win to qualify for the African Championship of Nations.

Amabinneplaas drew 0-0 with the Zebras in the first leg in Gaborone two weeks ago. The South Africans go into this game with the shock elimination of Orlando Pirates from the African Champions League still fresh in their minds.

Pirates, the 1995 Champions League winners, were eliminated by Botswana league kings Gaborone United on the away goal rule three weeks ago.

"There is no way Botswana will embarrass us," said new recruit Patrick "Chippa" Malokase.

"The team that we've assembled will do the job for the country on Saturday. Our aim is to go all the way to the final in Sudan."
