NORTH West public safety MEC Howard Yawa yesterday condemned the latest farm murder and urged the police to work closer with the farming community to ensure results.
Departmental spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said in a statement: "Yawa wants speedy arrests and people to come forward with information."
Koos van Staden was shot dead on his farm near Brits.
He was shot through the bedroom door while trying to prevent his assailants from entering.
Van Staden, 60, a vegetable farmer in the Kleinfontein district, was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital. His wife was unhurt.
One of the couple's dogs had been poisoned, but the second survived. Nothing was stolen from the house and there were no signs of forced entry.
